node.js – Interessanter Gedanke

node.js, die erste brauchbare Realisierung von serverseitigem JavaScript (dank Googles V8-Engine), zerbricht ein paar Paradigmen herkömmlicher Webentwicklung.

Die offensichtlichen Vorteile liegen auf der Hand:

  • eine einzige Sprache auf Server und Client machen für den Entwickler einiges einfacher
  • einfaches Handhaben von Asynchronität dank der natürlichen Event-Drivenness von JavaScript
  • das unanstrengende JS-Prototypen-Modell auch auf dem Server
  • etc.

Ein interessanter Gedanke hatte mir noch gefehlt. Dieser Artikel verriet ihn mir:

Being able to run jQuery on the server is big win. What I plan to explore is the idea of replacing templates with pure html in some of my scripts. Instead of littering my code with expressions and code to be evaluated, I would like to do the equivalent of Unobtrusive JavaScript, and have a prototype document which is updated (in parallel!) by a number of scripts before the results are returned.

And now: Call me Captain Obvious :)
