The Web sucks - not!
Tiraden über das Web als gescheiterte Applikations-Umgebung und eine Antwort. Die deutlich bessere Antwort – auch wenn sie nicht als eine solche verfasst wurde – ist der schon im vorletzten Post verlinkte Essay Understand the Web, vor allem folgender Unfug ist damit voll und ganz entkräftet:
The only way the web can survive is to reinvent itself, to refocus. Each browser should focus on innovation, not parity: Web developers can choose which platform they want to develop for. Does your app run best using Chrome’s non standard SDK? Go for it.
Jetzt verstehe ich auch, warum der Essay von Ben Ward nicht „Understanding the Web“ heißt, sondern im Imperativ formuliert ist.
